"He lent my mom a hand!"

Last year, I found out my mother had to have major surgery three days before I was supposed to leave for summer camp. The doctor's said that she'd need to rest and take things easy for the entire summer. I wanted to stick around and help her out around the house, but she insisted that I go. I was so depressed about it, so my awesomely sweet boyfriend made me an offer I couldn't refuse He said, "If you promise to write or call me every single day, I'll come over and help your mom out whenever she needs it.": I agreed even though I didn't think he'd really keep his end of the bargain for the entire summer. Boy was I wrong! Every time I called to check in with my mom, my guy was either there helping out, or he'd just left. She wouldn't have made it through the summer without his help. When I got back, they were so close it was adorable, and since then, he and I have been closer than ever!
