"He adopted a puppy just for me!"

When my friends told me that the class clown wanted to take me on a date, I was a little reluctant to go. He seemed like an OK guy, but I'd heard he was a total prankster and a real jerk. I passed on his offer to go to the movies, but I decided not to tell him why. But my friends couldn't keep their mouths shut -- they told him how I felt about his reputation. He started calling me everyday, but I refused to return his calls because I really didn't think he was my type. One Saturday morning, he showed up to my door with a giant basket in his hands. Inside was the cutest puppy I'd ever seen! He adopted it from the local pound a few hours before it was supposed to be put to sleep because he wanted to prove to me that he had a heart. (He's had mine ever since!)
