I realized that I really like my bus better than flying. I'm not one of those people who hate to fly or be in the air -- being in the air is kinda cool, actually -- but I'm pretty sure there is nothing comfortable about flying. Lately, the routing of the tour has been all over the place, so I've been flying quite a bit. When I sit in an airport before a flight, I am always excited about the flight. There's something about sitting at a gate with your headphones on in an airport that makes you feel very worldly. Then I walk on the plane and realize that I don't want to sit in a small seat for the next few hours. Some things that I have noticed about planes:
- You always feel like you're traveling in the same direction. Whether it's north or south, when you're on a plane, you're always kind of just going -- forward.
- It always smells like coffee on a plane. And that, mixed with jet fuel, doesn't smell good.
- I never get a whole row to myself. It's always the dude in the row next to me.
- A lot of flight attendants have Southern accents.
- I barely fit into the bathrooms on a plane.
Only a few flights left. I am going to really enjoy sitting in the airport. It's the part I look forward to the most. I urge all of you to enjoy your seat at the gate and make the best of it. It's the best the next three hours are going to get! Here's a pic of me having fun at my gate yesterday. The kid next to me is looking at me like I'm crazy.
